SEWA Delhi Trust’s Skill Development Programmes focus on equipping women and youth with practical, market-relevant skills that can help them access better employment and livelihood opportunities.Through hands-on training, confidence-building and exposure to income-generation opportunities, the programmes support them in strengthening their skills, improving their income potential and moving towards greater economic self-reliance.
Basic & Advanced Garment Making Training
The Basic and Advanced Garment Making Training programme provides women with practical, hands-on training in garment making, helping them develop skills that can be applied directly to employment and livelihood opportunities. The training covers both foundational and advanced techniques, enabling women to improve their technical abilities, work quality and confidence.

Job Readiness Training
The Job Readiness Training programme supports young women in preparing for and transitioning into formal employment. The programme combines practical workplace skills with guidance on professional communication, confidence-building and understanding workplace expectations. By helping participants become better prepared for employment and connecting them with relevant job opportunities, the programme aims to support young women in accessing more stable livelihoods and building greater economic independence.

- Connects trained participants with relevant formal job opportunities to support improved and more stable incomes.
Placement linkages to employers including McDonald’s, Starbucks, Reliance Smart, Policybazaar and IBS Interactive BPO Services etc. The programme also connects young people to industry exposure, internships, hospitality courses and emerging opportunities in digital and work-from-home roles.
Nurturing Young Leaders
Since the inception of the SEWA movement, community leadership has played an important role in bringing the concerns and needs of communities to the forefront. In the same spirit, SEWA Delhi Trust’s Youth Development Programme focuses on nurturing young people as confident, aware and active contributors to their communities.
The programme creates opportunities for young people to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills while building awareness around gender, mental health, career planning and community issues. Through skill-based training, exposure visits, competitions and community initiatives, young people are encouraged to explore their potential and take collective action on issues that matter to their communities. The programme also supports young people in developing leadership skills and taking on active roles in driving positive change within their communities.
