Udyami Micro-Entrepreneurship

For many women working from home, having a skill is only the beginning. Limited access to markets, digital tools, financial knowledge and business networks often prevents their skills from translating into sustainable incomes. Udyami Micro-Entrepreneurship was designed to bridge this gap by supporting women micro-entrepreneurs to transform their home-based skills into more market-oriented and sustainable enterprises.

From Making to Marketing

The programme provided practical training in:

    • Entrepreneurship & business management
    • Digital and financial literacy
    • Digital payments and safe transactions
    • Pricing, budgeting and financial decision-making
    • WhatsApp Business, Instagram and Meesho
    • Market access and online selling

The training is followed by continuous handholding, helping women move beyond classroom learning and apply new skills to their own businesses.

From Confidence to Enterprise

The programme helped women make a shift:

    • Fear of digital tools → Independent digital usage
    • Guess-based pricing → Informed business decisions
    • Selling occasionally → Thinking like an entrepreneur
    • Limited market access → Exploring digital marketplaces

“I already had the skills to make products, but the Udyami programme helped me understand how to turn those skills into a livelihood. I learned how to price my products, present them better and reach the right customers. This helped me see new ways to grow my work and increase my income.”
